I'm not one to jump on the resolution bandwagon and make a bunch of empty promises to myself. There are however some goals that I would like to accomplish this year and I've often heard that stating them publicly will make me more accountable in terms of accomplishing them, and will garner me the support of my friends. So dear friends, I'm asking you to hold me accountable to my goals and to support me in moving forward in my quest to constantly better myself.
Here goes:
1) Unplug - As a family, we have decided to "unplug" more this year. Minimal TV, less facebooking, texting and tweeting. We see this as a way of engaging more with each other and the people we are privileged to share time with.
2) Work towards optimal health - This is a personal goal of mine. I want to exercise more, eat less, cook healthier. Basically a lifestyle change to better myself and my family. It won't be easy, and this is where accountability and support will be most needed from you dear friends!
3) Get out with my hubby once in a while - Having 2 kids has been a wonderful, crazy, tumultuous life change. I wouldn't trade it for the world. The odd night out to reconnect with the hubs would be great though. Need to work on setting up an occasional babysitter.
4) Play more - In tandem with unplugging more, I plan to play more with the kids. They're a hoot and when we do play it's always fun. More boardgames and silliness to come!
5) Reinstate Friday night movie nights with the fam - Cutting back on TV will make our Friday night movie nights much more of a treat for all of us!
6) Speak less, listen more - I will try my darndest to be a better listener, to not interrupt and to pay attention to what you are saying. Bear with my baby brain though. Some days, I really feel like I have ADD.
